Tragedy Assistance Program For Survivors
(TAPS)

Through support groups, grief camps and much more, TAPS cares for those grieving the loss of a loved one who died while serving in our armed forces or as a result of his or her service.
Jill's House

This is the nation's largest overnight respite care facility for children with intellectual disabilities, allowing parents time to reduce stress levels and invest in their marriages or other relationships.
STEP Richmond

This ministry works to defeat poverty in Gilpin Court, one of the largest government housing neighborhoods on the East Coast. They do this through adult job skills training, children's reading programs and more.
VA War Memorial

Through the stories of those who served, the nation’s leading state War Memorial honors Virginia’s fallen and preserves the past. In the process of helping veterans find their voice and collecting and telling their stories, the Memorial also educates and inspires for the future.

SARP

The YWCA of Central Virginia’s Sexual Assault Response Program (SARP) is dedicated to providing free crisis intervention, support, advocacy, and information to survivors of sexual assault and abuse as well as to family members and friends. SARP also works to raise public awareness of sexual assault and personal safety. The program provides 24 hours a day, seven days a week services to residents of the City of Lynchburg, Town of Bedford and Altavista, as well as the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell.
